When people say I live off of wheat grass, this drink is actually what they are talking about.  And it's not a huge stretch from the truth.  Over the last 8 years I have probably averaged 4 of these drinks daily in different variations.  The exact ingredients have evolved a little over the years, but the basic idea has never changed.

First, I must say I am a big fan of eating 5 or 6 smaller meals in a day versus 1, 2 or 3 larger meals.  I find for myself it has helped to keep cravings at bay, I have far less intestinal issues vs larger meals, and my energy levels are consistently higher. It also makes a perfect meal replacement drink to bring to work. I can make a couple in just a few minutes in the morning, put them in thermoses with ice cubes, and they stay fresh all day, ready to drink at any moment.  Being a drink, they make it easy to stay hydrated, which is also a big bonus. Due to the nature of how pre-made drinks are processed, preserved and stored, none of them can rival the nutrition of this powerhouse.  Here's the basic drink:

16 oz. pure water:
-I am not a fan of tap water due to chlorine, fluoride, heavy metals, etc. that are commonly found in it.  I am also not a fan of bottled water as it is very expensive, wasteful of resources, and the problems associated with chemicals leaching out of the plastic.  My personal favorite is the Berkey gravity fed water purifier.  I'll let you research the details, but it is cheaper and far superior to filtration systems such as Pur and Brita. (Link at bottom of page.)

2-4 Tbsp raw honey or maple syrup:
Raw honey has great properties that can actually help with allergies and your immune system in general, and maple syrup comes with its own minerals that help with digestion/utilization, instead of having to leach minerals from other foods or your body in order to provide energy.

1 scoop 20-30 grams protein powder:

My all time favorite:Classic Protein(vanilla). Sprouted, fermented, raw, vegan, an amino acid profile almost identical to human milk; it doesn't get much better than that. I've used the best grass fed whey proteins, micellar caseins, "native" whey, etc., and while good, I'm happy to have finally found a vegan protein that rivals the best of them while also being healthier for you and the planet.
2 tsp Olive oil:
I prefer BRAGG's brand.  It's very high quality and has a pleasant taste.  Other oils such as flax and hemp are also wonderful, but I prefer the taste of olive oil.
1 Tbsp Super Greens:
Dark green leafy vegetables are the greatest superfoods on the planet. These will supercharge the drink with vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients that most people's diets are lacking in due to our overly processed foods and poor farming practices. Sunwarrior Ormus Greens
Above is the basic drink, but more often than not, I will add one of the following to make it even more complete:

1 Tbsp chia seeds: not only are chia seeds loaded with vitamins, minerals, healthy fats, and protein, but they are also very low on the glycemic scale, which helps them to release the nutrients very slowly, helping to keep your energy levels steady.  I prefer to pre-soak them before adding the other ingredients.  For me at least, I find they digest better that way.

3 raw eggs: if you're feeling brave and want to go Rocky style, then this is a great way to add more quality protein and fats to the mix.

2 tsp pine pollen:  another one of natures superfoods.  Not only is pine pollen loaded with vitamins and minerals, but it has chemical compounds that are known to help with testosterone levels.  I harvest this in the spring off of my own pine trees, though there are plenty of companies you can buy it from also.

As mentioned, this drink is a staple in my diet.  I have a wife and 5 kids, I work a full time manual labor job.  To have the energy to come home after work, put in a quality workout, and then keep functioning until bedtime is not an easy task, and certainly doesn't happen by accident.  My Super Greens Power Drink provides quick, easy to digest, long lasting energy, and quality vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, protein, fat, and carbohydrates to help keep me healthy.

Note: for me, taste comes secondary to quality, so if you want your drink to taste like an Oreo milkshake, then you will be disappointed.  But, for the quality of ingredients, it tastes much better than most people expect, and will probably be the best tasting "wheat grass" drink you have ever had.
